7 march 2011 update

VLOGGITY VLOGGITY VLOG

Great week.  First off if you are in the Denver area and into yoga then go to at least one Friday Night Yoga Club.  I went to the first one on Friday and it was awesome!!!  I went as a eight month post-partum yogini who is still conservative in my practice and was welcomed, smiled, pushed myself and left me looking forward to future events.  I am working to connect with more of the Front Range Yoga Community and this is a great space for that.  And beyond that this was an inspiring night for me to be there… I have a whole other blog post coming your way on this topic!

Fun week for eating and playing.  This vlog was shot after a 3.5 mile run with a jogging stroller with 3 miles on trail.  Did yoga and taught yoga.  I also have my heart and mind on one of my fertility clients about to embark on her first IVF treatment.  So my thoughts are with her and if any of you can send good energy out there for her I would appreciate it.  This past week I also did the first run with the Title 9 store out of Boulder in preparation for their Title 9K run on Mother’s Day.  If you are in the area and want to run with them then do it Tuesdays at 6 PM, Thursdays at 7 AM.

This week for food:

Sunday: Organic Pizza (via blogging event with Organic Pizza Company Grand Opening)

Monday: Greens, Nutty Rice, and Squash Soup

Tuesday: Chana Saag and Brown Rice

Wednesday: Roasted Chicken and Veggies

Thursday: BLTs

Friday: Chicken Salad or MORE YOGA!!! (Friday Night Yoga Club)

Saturday: No idea yet

For workouts this week I want to stay indoors so will be finally setting my bike up on the Trak Stand as well as P90x and yoga.

This upcoming weekend I am volunteering with the Runnin’ of the Green in Denver.  They still need volunteers so if you are not doing anything on Sunday help out.  I also know the Rudi’s Organic Half Marathon still needs volunteers 27 March.  Volunteering is fun and an awesome way to keep your motivation to workout up.

Do you volunteer or give back to your fitness community is some other way? When I do races I try to have my hubby volunteer to support me. Do you support others in races if you are not running?

  1. You eat the most interesting things ~ honestly, wish I could just spend a day in your kitchen watching and learning….

  2. Congrats on your successes this week. 🙂 I really want to get back into the walking/jogging more often. so hard when I have 6 kids home all day though due to homeschooling. Kids don’t go fast paced as we would like to either.

  3. I agree with Daenel T, your food plan sounds awesome!!

  4. Kia, you are such an inspiration to ALL women/mothers!! I adore you and your passion for health, fitness, and well rounded wellness!! You are a rockstar 🙂

  5. The view is breathtaking…I wanna go,lol. The yoga club sounds really cool, I have to look to see if there is something like that here. *waving at Bodhi* He is so precious, I see he had to get his 2 cents in,lol.

  6. Okay…where did you put the snow this year…oh wait, I found it in my yard. I wish we had jogging conditions. What kind of stroller do you have?
Sending my positive thoughts for your client. IVF treatment is difficult and every bit helps. Keep up the great work. Your hubby does an awesome job running the camera too.

    1. I know right? We had 60 degree weather all last week and the snow we did have melted. We are getting two days of it this week. This is what living in a place with sun 300+ days a year looks like.

As for the stroller, it is an older Kelty Joyrider. I picked up for $50 from Craigslist and the tune-up at REI was $11. It is in great shape, works like a dream and baby really likes it.

  7. ORGANIC PIZZA OPENING? OMG! I would DIE. DIE I tell you! Gosh, how I would love to have all of that organic goodness close by. How awesome!

  8. I want to come and eat at your house for a week. You always have the most delicious sounding things!

  9. I am amazed how people run with strollers – seriously I am way to clumsy for that bwahahaha

I love little Bodhi’s interjections into the vlog – I think he’s trying to steal your spotlight bwahahaha

HAve a great week, you always inspire me – I know I say this ever comment haha

    1. Dude, trail running and a stroller… I was SLOW. No worry of tripping over anyone while in the dirt LOL

  10. I know it’s been said already, but the food you ate sounds delish! Wanna come live in MI? 🙂
Sending good thoughts to your client. Infertility sucks.

  11. I wish I could be as organized with planning food for the week as you are. You’re definitely an inspiration. Have a great week!
