Hey all. Wow, what a crazy, awesome new year this is going to be. December was a beautiful mix of mercury retrograde miscommunication (a.k.a. wild goose chases) and celebrating life with those I care about. This year will be an exploration of love and light, feeling what I put out for the world. Here is my vlog with me playing with vision boards today.
The past couple of weeks have been sweet with mind/body awareness. I have nourished myself really well (I am tempted to put up the pics of our celebratory dining). There was a lot of fiber because above all I wanted my infant to eat at every meal. December was an awesome month for legumes, greens, sweet potatoes, and all kinds of produce. I exercised a good deal because I picked up a lot of slack at the main yoga studio I work for in between others taking vacation and illnesses. There was one week I taught nine yoga classes. I also got out to hike and run. Everything my body did in the wellness sphere was not planned, just living.
However now it is time to plan and play. Can we say P90X? I love these workouts because they really do feel like playing to me. I agreed to do this with another Mamavation sista a while ago and it ballooned into a full challenge. I am doing it but may not play with all the challenge rules, there was no challenge when I put it on my calendar. I am not posting measurements and pictures today. Perhaps I am being recusant and wary since the challenge ballooned, perhaps it is the idea of undue pressure of first of the year commitments, I have no idea. I wish everyone success as they undertake it. I did it just before I got pregnant and into my 1st trimester and can vouch that you will feel great if you stick with it. Good luck!
This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by Game Stop who wants to know ways you can work out without having to leave the house. The obvious answer is videos and games (I mean hey I just did a huge paragraph above about videos). In the Mamavation program we have been very lucky to have EA Sports Active sponsoring us a good deal and I am looking forward to checking out their latest version of product. Beyond that there are little things when you are unplugged like squats and other simple movements with babies or even while cleaning up. Simply get active, you don’t have to even get out of your pajamas to do so.
Finally it isn’t finished but here is the vision board in my “me.me.me.me.me :)’ file folder. And yes, I do work on my health, fitness, and wellness with me as the main priority.

Wow, You look so great and I so love your energy! I never tried the vision board – looks like great thing to have. Good luck on your goals and P90X. I sounds like you’re already have work P90X. How is it?
Your running buddy is pretty cute. I bet he enjoyed the run as much as you did. Happy New Year!!!
Thanks Lena. I love vision boards. My husband and I used one with our wedding that we referred to when we were doing all the planning when we got stuck with options. We also made one for the aesthetic of our son’s birth and all the swag and decorating for his life. I have done P90X before and it reminds me of hell week for any sport team like soccer and volleyball with the drilling you do then. I enjoy that stuff.
Thanks Shawn. He is an energetic guy that usually gets up before 6am to bug his owner. The day after our run he slept til 8:30. She wants me to take him out again.
Hey beautiful one!
I did a vision board this year but did it in word, lol. After so many months of talking about it, its finally on my fridge. I still need to get into one of those cool yoga poses, lol.
Best wishes to you and your family this year.
Oh lord, P90X is TOTALLY like hell week! I never though about it like that, but it’s totally true.
Good luck restarting the program! Sounds like you had wonderful and fullfilling holidays. What a great way to start the new year!
Awesome vision board. I’ve been working on mine for a week now, and finally got the poster board, so I have NO excuse to get it done! Would you recommend P90X for beginners? Good luck this week! And I hope to see you on Mamavation TV tonight! The mamavation applicants [including myself] will be the special guests! Have a great week!
I would not recommend P90X for beginners unless you already have some strength and stamina. It is fun, but I could see it being frustrating if you don’t have an endurance and cardio base. Stephanie (@fitmomtraining) is leading the challenge and Jenn (@CoachJenn) is a P90X coach – they would be good to talk to for gauging if the program would be good for you at the moment.
Also have a great time finishing your board. I still have work to do on my 3.
Kia you are so wonderful. I love coming to your post and reading and listening to your vlogs because of how honest you are. You have helped me in so many ways and I am can not believe we have been in Mamavation for over a year now! I am so glad we have gotten to know each other!
LOL I love that Bodhi made his presence known during that video! That was too cute! I love the idea of a vision board, I am so making it a goal to make one within the next week or so! It’s been super slow at work, so I have had tons of free time between calls! I may actually start tonight! Thanks for the inspiration. You are awesome and good luck with P90X. And thanks SO much for your support and everything you do for Mamavation!
Love you so much!! I totally get being whatever you are about the challenge. It did balloon!! It might have been your thing and now it’s not. I get it.
Love the vision board! What’s 24? I see you have a goal of 2:45 for the marathon? Cool!!!
Love, light and the Dalai Lama !!
Thanks. I am a brat but I admit it. 24 is body fat percentage goal. The half marathon goal us 1:45… and I want to 55 at the 10k on Memorial Day. You didn’t see handstand push ups fory bday… I want to do them again 😉
Ha ha. It’s good to know yourself.
24% sounds pretty good to me!! I’d like to get under 30 first, which I haven’t been for many years, I’m thinking. Getting down to 24% would be amazing!!
Can’t wait to see how you do!!!
I love your vision board. I love that you say P90X is like playing to you. Maybe I shoudl really try it out. *hugs*
Love the vision board! I should totally do that!!! Rock it Kia! You are awesome!
I love the idea of the vision board. How fun to be doing that with a friends too. Love the Be Good To Your Body Reminder.
