Busy week but I did get outside to play yesterday at the Warrior Dash with my hubby.  And as @bookieboo pointed out in a tweet :

@bodhi_bear How was your hubby running? Don’t I remember you saying he was the whiner of the two of you? LOL #mamavation
I had so much fun with him.  I took off all expectations of racing because he is not as competitive as me. We ran some, held hands to walk some (especially before crowded obstacles), kissed a good deal, he gave me a “mudhawk” (that is handy work after the mud pit)… and dubbed the Warrior Dash the Warrior Love Stroll.  I mean there was some running, there were definitely obstacles and a lot of climbing, but I also had a race where I grabbed a beer from some spectators in the last 400 m to drink before jumping over the two fire walls.  There was a lot of laughing, let me just say that.

I took Fit Stanley along… and he is also traveling with me this week on VACATION!  Ah, vacay! Me and my little family are really excited for the next few days.  I traveled and was at conferences a good deal early this summer and my husband had a busy season at work recently.  We had some weeks of disconnect and both of us pulled the “single parent” card to support the other.  We will be unplugging and heading up to the mountains to wear cozy slippers around the condo, pamper each other, hike, eat yummy food, read to each other and take naps.  I will also be training, but that is fun for me and will do that while hubby and B do other things.

I have already set my email notifications to vacay and have some last minute prep to do both online and IRL but will be diving into pampering mood soon.

O.k. – my recap of this last week. Man, my mind is getting ahead of me.

#1 Emo eating – last week I thought I was emo eating and caught myself… well nope.  It wasn’t emo eating at all.  I had one hell of a monthly cycle start this week and I generally don’t get them too rough so can forget how energetically expensive they can be.  My emo eating was actually my body physiologically preparing for something and my head not realizing it wanted some quick calories for a reason.  I feel so much better about my cravings for the peanut butter cream pie (#pieformikey) in the fridge and other stuff I don’t usually crave.

This cycle has been harsh and I do take a Blood Builder suite of vitamins but that did not stem my body from being wiped.  The Warrior Dash yesterday was more of a challenge than I anticipated because of that but it was still fun.  I did have some back spasms going up the long hill but it was all cycle related.  Painful but bearable.

#2 Boundary Testing – remember how I started out this mercury retrograde telling folks I would be spending time re-evaluating relationships? Well I have been true to that and even re-evaluating the boundaries I set with others.  This week I had a chance to test that re-established resolve and feel like I passed with flying colors.  I turned down a position with a professional affiliation because they were being a PITA.  Even though working with their social media programming would have been with content I LOVE the people gave me enough red flags to say no. I also turned down client work because they wanted a little of my vacay time.  I have been steadfast in not allowing anyone to take any of this time away from my family and me.  I am proud of being resolved, tested, and confident in saying no when warranted.

Food this past week was mostly nourishing. Movement this week was a bit lackluster, but like I wrote – I was wiped.

This next week should be fun.  I plan on cooking a lot (maybe even baking – it will be cooler at higher elevation).  I have my sprint tri next week so plan to move some more to prep.  I want to go for a ride before we leave today so I will only need to take running and swimming gear while we are gone.  On Thursday when we are back I want to do a stacked mini-brick to practice ALL transitions once more.  Polar is also holding a clinic ahead of the tri with last minute info at Outdoor Divas that night that I will be attending.

I have to give Polar some serious love and props for supporting me with this sprint tri.  They are a sponsor along with Athleta and comped my race entry.  My pastel pink F4 model may be old but it still does the trick of letting me know when I am pushing too hard or not hard enough.  I love their products and have been brand loyal for a long time.

Have a great week everyone.  The LOVE CRUNCH and Sambazon giveaway is still going on.  Enter because it is EASY and the products are good.
