This is the awesome shirt I got from Kena Activewear as part of the Fundraiser for Erick that Middle Aged Jock is leading.
Beyond that the big fun news is CROSSFIT. I will be bugging @PamelaMKramer and my IRL friends as I do this and run in the coming weeks.
This week my husband and I are gonna eat pretty clean to do a modified cleanse with some supplements. In our meal planning he mentioned wanting more fermented foods – I was able to hand him a copy of Nourishing Traditions. I’ll plan this week to pull some recipes for next week’s plan. Here is our meal plan for this week though.

In super happy news our farmers markets begin opening the first weekend in April but one of the farm stands near me was open yesterday. I bought a lot of kale and some mint. Woohoo!!!
My active schedule is always flex as I carpe diem but here are the planned things:
2 crossfit workouts, 2 runs, teach 2 yoga classes, attend one long yoga class
This week I will also be on the panel for two twitter parties:
MONDAY w/ my local friend @gr8lifecoach for The Give Bag Twitter Party from 6-7 PM PST
TUESDAY #gno Empowering Communities with Aveda from 9-11 PM EST
Have a great week everyone. And out of curiosity… how do you give back to your communities? I volunteer with my running community (my running club does a lot of charity work for different orgs) as well as with a female-centered foundation.

You are an AMAZING AWESOME LADY… I know you will do amazing in CROSSFIT can’t wait to see the results..
Did you say fermentation? Oh, yeah… we are food soul sisters. Might I suggest a little natto? I know some people knock it for the texture, but fermented soy beans are awesome protein. As soon as cabbage is back at our market I will be making sauer kraut. DH just planted the little cabbage sprouts in the greenhouse.
Our market opens next month… and strawberries are just around the bend. Happy to hear you are a local eater and small farm buyer (both issues close to my heart)
Have a fabulous week and stay healthy and happy.
Heck yeah I am a locavore. Have been a customer of CSAs in three different states, have been a member of Slow Food, and I currently know the guy who grows my wheat as well as folks who raise the cows and chickens where I get milk and eggs from. We have A LOT of farms around here and it would be an a$$hole move not to support them IMHO. You have to have love for your food sources – to me that really is a big foundation of the community where I live.
I will look into natto. Thanks for the suggestion.
You are seriously awesome!!! So glad you had fun helping and supporting at the race!! And really, climbing a rope? You are my idol!!! And yes…bring on the gun show pics! xoxo
Yay for Farmer’s Markets! Everything on your meal plan sounds really delicious. Crossfit? Wow, that sounds like a pretty intense workout regimen!! Goodluck:)
Your menu plan looks delish! Can I come eat at your house? 🙂
Honestly you are amazing such an inspration for everyone here in mamavation!!!! thank you so much for your support!
I’m coming over with Laura to eat at your house. Your menu plan looks so good! Thanks for the reminder that I need to be doing that too. You’re such an inspiration.
Thanks for the Kena shout out…but more importantly, thanks for the inspiration. I think I am going to volunteer @ my next local race. I am usually only thinking of running in them.
Interested to hear what you think of Crossfit. There is a gym near me that I keep meaning to go try.
I know everyone has already said it, but you are so AWESOME! I can’t wait until our farms and local growers start selling again, the food there is just so much better! Have a great week!
Can’t wait to hear more about your Crossfit experience. We had a Crossfit location open up here about 6 months ago, and I’m curious but already paying for the YMCA, so I haven’t ventured down to check it out yet.
