Insert vloggity here when I find my camera. Darn it I shot some silly footage yesterday at Rocky Mountain National Park and am hoping I simply misplaced vs. lost my video camera. Wish me luck.
Anyway it has been an awesome week. It was week 2 of P90X and I feel like I am getting all kinds of stronger. Today is Sunday and I am fiending yet dreading chest and back (the hardest workout for me). I need to thank my buddies Rachel (@rachelsteffen), Greta (@middleagedjock), Stephanie (@fitmomtraining), Jenn (@CoachJenn), Alison (@alireder), Shelley (@momma_oz), and Elena (@CiaoMom) that I go to when whining or feeling awesome about the program. Thanks ladies I am having a great time doing this with you.
The big challenges for me this week were having lean protein on hand and feeling run-down at times. Here are my goals for this week:
- Roast a turkey on Monday and pack up portions to be economical and whole-foody with my protein for a while (I love making turkey meatballs with whole turkey portions I have froze)
- Vitamins… not that long ago a friend said she was feeling run-down and I suggested she take some iron if all was not well in her diet. Well I need to take my own advice. I have been slacking on my vitamins and may also need to add some iron to see if that helps.
- Eat, eat, eat – maybe rely on some strawberry and spinach smoothies + almonds if I am feeling a bit out of it
This week is going to be much loads of fun. Here are my evenings:
- Monday -We have our big Mamavation Campaign 7 Twitter Launch Party
- Tuesday – I will be a community panelist for the Mom It Forward Conscious Consuming and Upgrading Your Green Life Twitter Party
- Thursday – My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary and are on the same page of doing something outside and active since we will have a lot of moonlight and are not forecasted for snow that evening.
- Saturday – We are going to see The Airborne Toxic Event play with the Colorado Symphony to formally celebrate our anniversary and I want to look good – I am talking fit body and warm heart (this is a week to eat great and move to maximize my joy).
There are also a number of groovy things going on in my non-Mamavation life that I need to go-go zoom with this week. I am doing my best to keep my family healthy so that I can be productive in that realm of the world too.
Have a magnificent week everyone. While I do the food/mind/body thing to maximize my joy I hope you do as well. We deserve it.

As always you shock me with how active you are with a wee one at home. Great plans & great job this past week!
Love you!
Good luck continuing on with P90X…You are amazing! Hope I can attend your Tues. party, I’ll try really hard, but have a sledding party to serve refreshments for. Happy Anniversary on Thursday! Have fu out and about this week!!!
Kia, You have a very busy week ahead of you. Have fun!
I love your attitude and your energy. Eat, drink and take your vitamins
I’ve had some bouts of feeling running down and sluggy. Been taking my vitamins though. I think the hardest part of this program is the eating. I can grunt my way through a session but having the right foods on hand is tough!
So glad to have you along for the ride!
Happy Almost Anniversary 🙂
a little early but,… Happy Anniversary! The Symphony sounds like the perfect place to celebrate it.
I love hearing that you feel stronger from the P90x! Pretty soon you will be a Super Kia. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Or really get your groove on in the snow.
Have a great week and keep up the awesome-ness!
I love love love that you said you are feeling all kinds of strong. Isn’t that awesome? Good for you! And Happy Anniversary.
Happy Anniversary! Sounds like you’ve got a busy week but have a plan to keep it sane. Good for you!
Rock on, girl!
OOOHHHH!!! Good luck locating your camera!!! I LOVE your vlogs 🙂
It look slike you have an AWESOME week planned and Happy Early Anniversary! HUGS!
I hope you are able to find your camera! I am always misplacing things. Happy Early Anniversary too! I hope you have fun seeing The Airborne Toxic Event, I love them!
hope you find your camera thanks for stayng so positive and i hope to be able to meet you this summer at he mamavation retreat hugs
I’m struggling with the protein too! I’m finding that I can only handle 3 egg whites at a time, and barely! That’s only half a protein too! I am having to resort to processed soy and protein powder. I wouldn’t do this long term, but while I have to eat 5 proteins a day, I gotta do it. I’m usually not meeting the 5 proteins even so.
Chest and back IS a killer! OMG! I dread Ab Ripper way more though. Ha ha. You know what? I definitely feel stronger and my arm muscle is somewhat more pronounced. Hoping some of the fat falls off of there so I can see it for real!!
I’m on the same page: food and moving to maximize joy! love it!
