What a week. I was planning a down week and ended up teaching 9 yoga classes in 6 days. This has been my busiest out of the home commitment since baby was born 6 months ago. This was an unusual week but the main studio I work for has been hit hard by vacation time and illnesses. I recorded a quick vlog while at the Skirt Sports warehouse sale today but that will take too much effort to put it up. Instead here I am dorking around at the studio.
My voice is back, I feel 100% but I was a little too busy to run or start the Bikram challenge. I did manage to eat breakfast within an hour of waking each day so I feel that is a victory. Also, my 9th class was a core + restore session for new mothers like me and wowee, kazowee my abs are still sore for demonstrating and doing that class with everyone. If it means anything I am in a size small in the Skirt Sports clothes (I got my triathlon bikini from them last week that I plan on wearing this summer as well as 10:05 pants today and another cute bottom).
This is going to be a fun week of celebration. I will live the motto “work hard to play hard” to its fullest. Tonight is the lunar eclipse and I am picking up my friend’s teenage daughter to go to the university astronomy department with me for a late night lecture and moon-gazing.
Tuesday is the solstice and we are celebrating with a good friend over for a feast of strawberry gazpacho, spinach salad, roasted root veggies, roast beast, and poached spicy pears.
Friday is Christmas Eve and we are doing a pork loin roast, roasted root veggies, stuffing, green beans, and a dessert of cocoa and ginger cookies.
For Christmas morning there will be a mimosa extravaganza in the a.m. with breakfast and going out for Thai food with friends for dinner.
I better get some cardio in there because I am not skimping on much of this stuff and I want to work in the Guinness Gingerbread recipe that Nigella Lawson posted on this weeks The Splendid Table. Other than these meals can we say lots of fiber with breakfast and spinach salads for other meals? LOL… and water 😉
I am pretty thrilled for this week’s Mamavation Guest and blogging carnival sponsor… Suzanne Forbes-Vierling, PhD and her Tribal Energy Cardio DVD.

Oh, girl… you went and made me hungry! Can I come over for Tuesday’s menu? I think you had me at strawberry gazpacho and poached pears. …*drool*
You are insane doing that much yoga. Fabulous! But, bonkers. I would be a human pretzel. So, kudos to you! Do you have any links to core/restore moves? My abs are still outta whack since my baby.
Have a fabulous Holiday Season!
