Hello VLOG reminding myself to be gentle.
Second, my apologies to those of you whose blogs I have not commented on in the last two weeks. Please don’t take it personally.
Life is good right now. I am fighting a slight cold but it is nothing major. Here is the garlic lemonade I mentioned. I do enjoy the taste and sometimes make a batch to boost my immune system. The weather in Colorado has been crazy so the running has been no issue. We still don’t have any snow on the ground. Just in case I toured a pool near me last week. I love swimming and need to hit it now to prep ahead of two sprint triathlons I want to do next year.
I also toured a Bikram studio last week. I have loved going to Bikram every so often for over a decade. I am not certified in it, and do not teach it, but I love it. I am considering starting a 30-day challenge within the week. My back could use it because the craziness with my last cycle was no fun but showed I could do a little more maintenance.
The next couple of weeks are going to be crazy. I am not traveling for the holidays thus I am available to cover classes for the studio I work for. I am covering a lot of classes around Christmas and New Years.
Yet I am slowing down for the rest of the month. Mercury is officially in retrograde and I am trying to ride out existing jobs and not get into anything new. I am playing with #reverb10, sketching ideas for a photo show I have in the spring, meditating, yoga, organizing my office, etc. You’ll probably see me on twitter a good deal the rest of December.
**BE SURE TO SEND OFF SECRET SANTA GIFTS IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING & LET ME KNOW YOU DID
My goals this week:
- Eat breakfast within 60 minutes of waking if not working out in the immediate a.m. If working out then within 30 minutes after working out.
- Begin a Bikram challenge IF I can avoid this cold
- 3 heart-rate monitor training runs

Oh sprint tri’s good lucK! Hubby just told me that he would watch the kids so I could train for one too!
Have a great week!
Thanks for the secret santa reminder! gotta write these things down! I know exactly what I’m getting for my recipient!
I’m feeling like I could actually do a tri in the future now, with my shoulder slowly getting better. I’ll be living vicariously through you until then!
Sounds like you’ve got some exciting stuff going on in the next couple of months! What’s the 30-day challenge?
I love that you see that your midwife loves you and that you trust her. that’s priceless.
Glad you’re okay. I’m curious about the garlic lemonade. does it taste good?
XO
Congrats on winning the Move It and Lose It Challenge. You rocked it! I still can’t believe you are snow free down there. Glad to hear you are taking “me time” for yourself.
Thanks for the shout out and all the information! It’s funny what you can forget after just 2 1/2 years. I guess that means I am postponing my want of the St George marathon a few more years because I don’t want a lecture, lol.
I will be in touch. I hit the ultrasound on Tuesday so I will probably need a bit more guidance as this is my 4th dr to start the process all over again.
Kia!!! How did I miss that you ran a 1/2??? I’m so proud of you! You are knocking it out baby!!
Happy to hear that you are in tune with your milk supply. One of my besties just asked me about mine in reference to my training. The crazy thing is, I’ve never noticed any changes.
You are doing so much more than I did 1 year post-partum with baby #1! You are in such a great space…celebrate!
In my opinion you just have to listen to your body and do what it says. I didn’t start any crazy exercise back till 6 weeks. I didn’t have any problems. Started right back into Tae Bo…but I was doing that pregnant too, so maybe that is the difference.
Mercury in retrograde? NOOOOOOOOO! I always have the worst things happen when mercury is in retrograde. HATE HATE HATE THAT! Thanks for the heads up.
And I’m still congratulating you for winning the Move It & Lose It challenge even if your midwife doesn’t approve. You kicked ass!
Way to go on the Move it or Lose it Challenge! How about Killer Kia for the P90X Challenge?
Kia,
You look incredible and Congratulations on winning a challenge. You are awesome! I did send my Secret Santa (FYI) and enjoy your baby! XOXO
you rocked the move it and lose it challenge…great job! Good luck on your busy schedule over the holidays and this weeks goals!
Wow, you’re doing so many great things! And you totally just reminded me to get out my heart rate monitor. I’ll have to add a HRM workout to my goals next week. Great idea! Thanks!
So, you’re kicking ass and taking names. My best friend here is the one picking up all the yoga classes at the gym because so many of the other instructors are travelling. She’s pretty excited about all of the hours in the warm, quiet, candlelit room (she has 2 under the age of 4. Quiet is at a premium).
Great work Killer Kia!
You really did rock that Move it or lose it challenge. I wish I had put more effort into it. It stinks that you got chewed out for it, but at least you didn’t do any damage to yourself. Good reminder to take it easy, though. 🙂
Have a great week and thanks for the supportive comment!
