mamavation monday 29 november 2010

VLOG shot during morning run.  I checked the temperature when I got home… it was 20.8 degrees.  I feel cool, felt like no thang!

It was a decent week.  My back is feeling a bit better but I am sore as I type this following taking it for a test drive this a.m.  I need to concentrate on body work for it to get better since my 5 1/2 month old is a 17-pound mongo these days. I was active this past week (a lot of yoga and core work) but more notably was a rock star with diet.  I told ya’ll what I had for t-giving but went into the week planning to pig-out on Thursday.  I ate well (clean) to have one day of excess coupled with having veggies with breakfast in my attempt to lure my infant to love produce.  I was actually so turned off by the excess at our T-giving table that I have been even more mindful than usual since then. Also due to poor planning I came home with a pound of salad greens and nine pounds of sweet potatoes to nom on.  My eating has been super clean minus some champagne on Saturday.

This week will be a focus on back work, keeping the green veggies coming for every meal in an attempt to influence my son’s young palate, and some toning to look as best as I can in outfits for holiday events (first party is this Thursday night).

Finally the Move It or Lose It Challenge is finally over. I know I was overtaken by at least one other challenger and am hoping I can hang on for some EarthFootwear. I got a pair of boots over the weekend and would love to gift a pair to my hubby if I win them. I gotta say I am looking forward to a break from the stupid scale.

My scale pic:

Yeah, that’s right! 3.8 pounds down from last week. I ate super clean prepping to pig out on Thursday but didn’t and ate even cleaner since that day of excess. The only silly scale trick I did was veggies that act as diuretics last night (asparagus) I will bust out the scale in January in an attempt to work towards looking good for my anniversary on 20 January.

My pics today.

Please note these shorts are not cute on me yet but I am jazzed! They are some goal shorts I bought before I got pregnant and I am at least in them. I will rock the hell out of them come spring. Trust!!!

Body pics from 18 October

Some things have changed.  Some not so much.  I am happy.  Also the day before I took my before pics I did a 2:35 half marathon where I walked the last 3 miles.

  1. Awesome pics! You really slimmed your middle down. I can’t believe there is no snow! We have swans out here mingling with the snow geese and Canadian geese.

  2. Loved running with you. Love the pictures and love the idea of getting up in the morning and such a huge weight loss. WOW!

  3. Oh, I remember those days of eating veggie after veggie for the kiddos. Later I spent hours making babyfood – well beyond just strained peas – pretty delicious baby-food rendition of some of our favorties, made with homeade stock and fresh herbs too.
You know what? I have one kid that is a picky bland eater, and one that is adventerous and spicy. Who knows?
Anyway, GREAT photos! look at you! Awesome.

  4. That video makes me feel cold! lol – The pics are great!!!!

  5. Awesome results, Kia!!! Speaking from my own experience, don’t expect the bust to go down too much since you’re breastfeeding. And Bodhi is 5 1/2 months old??? How is that possible?

  6. Nice change with your measurements Kia!! I hope the veggies goes well for you. The earlier you start, the better, right? 🙂 Thanks for all your encouraging words on my blog – you rock!
