VLAWG

(will be up on Monday)

To begin with, great news.  I am released from care and given the green light to resume normal activities.  Now is the sense of trepidation because I don’t feel like I can run a block.  It has been since mid-September. Ugh. On the bright side I have all kinds of new fun toys to play with Yankz, Go Sport ID, tribal arm warmers, and a BOB Ironman stroller.

We are forecasted for snow twice this week.  It is Colorado though so we get dumped on, then the sun shines.  it is usually possible to run outdoors a day or two after snow (if not that afternoon).  I’ll run and see how my body reacts.  This will be a test drive week.  No other agenda of mileage, time, calories burned, etc.

My focus for this week will be more on alkalizing foods and wholesome nutrition cleansing with a lot of lemon in my water.  I think I had a bit of adrenal fatigue when I was eating junk the first half of my injury.  I developed a sweet tooth which is very uncharacteristic of me.  it has mostly dissipated but a nice dose of mindful cleansing should help knock it out.  The other thing for dietary needs is to focus on hydration of good fats. We had one snowstorm last week and two this week… my skin is taking a beating!

With that said here is our dinner plan…

MON (roast chicken and veggies), TUES (wheat pasta with caramelized onions, bleu cheese, kale and walnuts), WED (pumpkin ravioli and greens), THURS (sweet potato lemongrass curry), FRI (some sort of quinoa/bean salad), SAT (leftovers), SUN (split pea soup)

Breakfasts are steel cut oats, smoothies or eggs + avocado. Lunches are leftovers, smoothies, or salads with leftover trimmings.

  3. Glad to hear that you have the green light! Enjoy all of your “toys” they should make getting back into the groove of things fun.

The pumpkin ravioli sounds yummy, do you make it from scratch?

    1. Yep, it is from scratch. I bake the pumpkin, I make the pasta, I make the ricotta.

  4. Lemon in water is a great way to cleanse. I swear by it.
