VLAWG – coming soon

Last week was pretty good. I met my activity goals with the exception of crossfitting 3/4 times. I am happy with that though because on Monday I ripped some skin off of my hand with the 7 rounds of dead-lifting I was doing at a rapid pace. I didn’t get back to crossfit until Thursday to give it some time to heal and just kept ripping it off through Friday. I ran twice and did yoga apart from the classes I taught twice.

This week will be a challenge though. Overlapping conferences here in Boulder are on the agenda with me presenting and teaching yoga at one. I’ll be at LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) Forum and the Fitness and Health Bloggers Conferences. At the later I will be on the Becoming an A-lister panel, leading Saturday a.m. yoga, and at Ignite Fitness.

So what does that leave for my workout schedule?? Crossfit 2-3 times Monday – Wednesday. Teach a couple of yoga classes on Wednesday (2x), Friday, and Saturday. And running clinic and mountain biking with the Fitness and Health Bloggers Conference on Sunday.

Food though is going to be a consideration. Both conferences will have healthy eats but I should pack some Larabars in case of emergency. I am also having simple vegan legume/grain combos earlier in the week with leftovers to pack if I need them. Tonight is black beans, brown rice, salsa, and avocado + salad.

New Balance also sent me another surprise over the weekend and I can’t wait to take it for a spin and get back to you all about it. Let’s just say that you should use a shoe for its designed purpose. Please read their take on training shoes vs. running shoes if you don’t already know about this topic.

Have a fantastic week everyone. My big brag for the last week is that I unplugged for Fathers Day to miss an awesome local yoga festival but am glad I did it. I walked the walk in balancing my priorities and the rewards have been awesome! We went camping in southern Colorado and rode a steam engine as a family. Have a fantastic week everyone.

  1. HOpe you hand feels better. Enjoy the conferences this week!

  2. I am learning more about getting the correct shoes. I bought a pair of running shoes and that’s all I’ve been using although I don’t run in them. :-/ Thanks for the link! Hope you have a grrreat week!

  3. 7 rounds of deadlifts? I love my deadlifts, but I don’t lust after them – ha!
SO excited for this week – yes food when I’m busy is tough too – the airports tomorrow will be HARD – it’s soooooo important for me to not wait until I’m starved to eat.
I too will pack me some lara bars – right now!
And YES! So loved the talk about New Balance and the diff types of shoes. I see you’ve got the deminimus trainers? I tried some on at Fitbloggin – soooooo want a pair – I didn’t know they were out yet!
    Hugs and Tick Tock 😀

  4. Yikes! A friend of mine is going through a bootcamp type regimen and his hands ended up looking like burger after the last week. I almost cried for him just looking at it. That said, I hope your hands heal quickly and holy hole in a donut, are lifting gloves a wonderful thing.

But mmmm, larabars! I think I’ma stock up on those too!

  5. Wow! You are one busy woman! I must have missed the shoe fiasco… what happened? Either way, I look forward to reading/hearing your review! 🙂
