things I am enjoying: third trimester

I feel very fortunate that I have made it to my third trimester still feeling comfortable in my own body and not having any aches or weird pains. I am more rotund now though and my boobs looked huge on my vlog yesterday. However I am still easily wearing my green running skirt!

Here I am this morning… at about 28 1/2 weeks.

Some of the odd things that have changed are that I can’t parallel park that easily anymore because putting my arm back on the passenger seat and twisting to look back is kind of constrictive. I have to be more careful when I reach for anything because I do not have freedom of movement. And I have to do an exaggerated squat for simple things like taking my 9 qt. dutch oven out of the oven when I am cooking a lot of food.

These are not major, life-changing inconveniences but some things that I notice.

I am also on the lookout for a preggo support harness for my long walks/hikes just to be sure that I don’t tax my ligaments. I will get one for this weekend and test it out on a hike on Sunday.

As for the baby it is doing fine. Kicking, shifting my whole belly, being a baby. I catch myself looking at its cute 3D ultrasound and imagining it when we are not separated by a matrix of fluid and tissue.

Soon enough. However for now I have some nesting to look forward to. Time with my sewing machine. Time writing and painting in the baby’s journal. And of course the rites of spring… blooming flowers, the farmers market, rising creeks, gorgeous weather, etc.

Isn't it amazing to feel and watch your belly move all over the place. I love it!

I am here to tell you that Kia parallel parks as well as or better than anyone you know. Clean, professional, and graceful. That's how she parks.

Just in case anyone was wondering. She's a pro. 🙂

  5. I am so happy you're enjoying your pregnancy. I loved (and now miss) every moment of it. Make sure that you are writing things down so you remember them later and take lots and lots of pictures. And LOL @ your husband ~ too funny. And when your milk comes in….WHOA… talk about ginormous.
