At my midwife appointment yesterday I buttoned up my fitted wool coat as I was leaving and my midwife said that my coat would not fit me the entire pregnancy. I told her I had a less fitted one to wear next, and then a larger one after that when I am completely round. She laughed as I gestured my hands to mimmick my belly size for each coat size. We ended up talking about maternity fashion and I let her know I have been hitting consignment stores and thrift stores for a couple of months now to stock a maternity wardrobe that I am not able to wear yet.
I am not a super chic woman in my life but there is something liberating I am finding about pregnancy in how honest I am and how expressive I allow myself to be. I have read how a pregnant woman can dress as silly, goofy, or sophisticated as they want and no one can step to them. I really hope I choose to play with my wardrobe as my bump grows.
Recently Design Mom did a post on What to Wear When You’re Expecting. I do not know her personally but given that she works with design I assume she has a certain inherent style that is gorgeous. My fave outfit she showed was her suit with tie.
Design Mom showing off her cute attireI totally plan to use some ties like this over my bump especially with shirt dresses. I also like the Kourtney Kardashian boots and sweater dress combos. I love my yummy Earth Footwear fuzzy boots, bohemian skirts, tall dress boots with slacks and tighter shirts to go over the roundness. I think life is too short to look dowdy and befuddled before we become moms, it can be the most empowering job in the world.
Are there certain lovelies you enjoyed wearing when pregnant?

Oh, I can't even tell you. Kia, I felt AMAZING when I was pregnant. I was 50 lbs lighter to start with, and I was afraid that being pregnant would make me feel horrible and fat, but it didn't. I felt spectacular. I didn't remember that with Riley.
I delivered in August, during one of the hottest summers of the year, so I loved my summer dresses. I had three, but my fave was a green stripey number from Old Navy that I got for like $3. It was comfortable and showed off my bump perfectly.
