WHO ME?

I am Kia.  I am a yoga instructor in the Denver area with a background in Ecology as a recovering academic. I live here with my husband and two kids (a toddler and a newborn) striving for our balance while still enjoying the heck out of life.  I like to be useful so love sharing the mind/body connection I have found in yoga as well as some of the other aspects of life that I consider healthy.  I share simple actions to be green, mindful, proactive with health, involved with community, and anything to increase your laughter and/or hug quotient.  Sometimes I’ll get my panties in a bunch and the left-brain/more analytical side of me will come out especially when I think consumers are led astray.

I yoga for a week at a dude ranch. Cowboy yoga, yeehaw!
Yoga at a Dude Ranch, heck ya! That was a fun retreat to teach at.

I am currently working on my personal trainer certification (I was an athlete in college so have that background to refer to) while I run, bend, hike, cycle, swim, and strength train my body through my life.  I also love to cook real food because it comes easy to me and I have a ubiquotous food allergy in cane sugar.  I am definitely not a “better living through chemistry” type of fitness fanatic. I am holistic health seeker with relying on as few toxic products as possible while being mindful of resources at my disposal.

  1. Hi Kia. Just thought I’d say hello to you. Why? Well, because I was looking to buy a domain for my son and that led me to stumble upon your page. Why? Well, check this out. It may amuse you. I promise this isn’t spam. I don’t eat it and I don’t dish it out either. http://www.youngergenerations.net

  2. Hi Kia!

It’s Cari from Title Nine Cherry Creek! I was just perusing your blog and I wanted to see how your bra is doing? It was so great to work with you, I hope you are enjoying your summer!

    Thanks!
    Cari

    1. Hi Cari. I actually shrank out of my bra so fast. However I hit up the sale in Boulder a few weeks ago and made out like a bandit with a few others I tried out during the event.

  3. Hi Kai,

I work with MAD Greens, here in Denver. We are hosting an exclusive Fall Menu Tasting next week for the local blog we enjoy reading most. Bodhi Bear is awesome!

The event will be held on October 15th our Westminster location (120th & Sheridan Blvd) at 11:30am and will last just an hour (being mindful of lunch hours.)

At the tasting, you will have the opportunity to try the two new soups MAD Greens is considering for the Fall menu. The feedback gained at the event will determine the soup ultimately offered. In addition, we will have new menu items which our founding Chef, Dan, will present. Recognizing how fun and influential you within the community, we’d so love for you to join us.

We only have a limited amount of space. If you’d be so kind, please let us know if you’re able to attend as soon as is convenient.

    All the best,
    Mandy Melby

  4. Hello Kia!

I am reaching out because the Colorado Ballet is hosting a new event this year, The Nutcracker Market. We would like to extend you and your family an invitation to join us in this new event. It includes a Market and even Breakfast with Santa.

We would also like to please ask to help us by blogging about our new event to your followers to see if they might be interested. We have flyers and press release statements at hand if you need them. Or else you can find information on this family friendly Market at our website: http://www.coloradoballet.com/nutcrackermarket.com
