Fundraiser for Erick

Let just say this – CANCER SUCKS BIG DONKEY BALLS! We are all affected by it. My husband and myself lost a loved one to lung cancer shortly after her diagnosis. What sucks even more is trying to figure out how to pay for bills and navigate the health care system when you have no health insurance.

My dear friend Greta at Middle Aged Jock is watching one of her friends not only battle this diagnosis but also the realities of not having health care in a country where it is extremely expensive to get ill in. She can’t fight cancer for her friend Erick but she is doing something to help out with the bills in her own way. She put together an online fundraiser for him. There are four ways to participate.

1. Donate money. There is a paypal link on the right-hand side of her blog. Sponsors have been generous in offering goods and a $10 donation is the minimum to get started. Two things I would love to win are a Kena Activewear shirt of a $40 Amazon gift card.

2. Bid on an item. Several of the items are up for online auction. You can e-mail Greta or bid on twitter. Here are my bids.

3. Donate something for her random drawings or auction.  The more goods will hopefully bring in more moola for Erick.

4. If you can’t bid money or donate then please get this fundraiser out to your social media followers and IRL friends.

Fighting cancer sucks. Having to worry about the bills and finding a doctor who will care for you without insurance are unimaginable.  Let’s help Erick out and let him focus on his health.
