mamavation monday 11 jan 10

Vlog… easier than typing 🙂

Last week was great with eating good foods (I did not have a burger like the week before), exercise went well (cardio and weights), and my baby bump started to noticeably show to me and my husband at 17 weeks. Last week I also got to visit one of my favorite yoga clothing companies and speak with their PR and head designer. Being around them was inspiring and I will let you know where and when that visit gets published on the web.

This week I need to eat more consistently through the week, it was a goal for last week that I did not do well with. This week I will need to resort to planning my snacks and eating to break my fast earlier. We will be warmer where I live this week and plan to take advantage of that with quality outdoor exercise.

Monday is actually a fun day because I get to visit my midwife for my current monthly check-up. The visit will include her examining a week-long food log I did, as well as some short-answer and essay questions. She will weigh me, examine my macronutrient levels in my urine and as she starts the physical exam she gives me a foot bath and foot rub, then doppler, and fundal height. My time with my midwife and any opinions she has on my body’s progress are really my true metric as I go through this pregnancy. I’ll let you know how it goes 🙂

Monday is also a fun day because it is the Mamavation Mom MomTV show this evening. The show should be good since Tuesday is the deadline for women to apply for the Mamavation Mom “boot camp” sponsorship. I look forward to hearing from the applicants as we all prepare to learn who the top 5 candidates are. I wish all moms applying can be selected but mathematically that is impossible (just like it was impossible to remember everyone’s name in my unscripted vlog – I did not mean to offend anyone). I know Leah will make good choices with the five, and she has brought on Pete Cohen for everyone else that needs that extra motivation.

Hooray for the bump! And good plan to PLAN those snacks and breakfast earlier. It makes such a difference to plan those things ahead of time.

  4. When I was pregnant last I used the Borg System of Exertion to monitor my exercise. I actually learned about it from a friend of mine from England and introduced it to my doctor. She loved it and I think she is recommending it to all her new patients that exercise. It's very subjective, but easier to follow than having a heart rate monitor.

I LOVE that you are my pregnant sita….I LOVED seeing your buddah!!! XXOO
