mamavation monday 4 october 2010

VLOG (big Subway Shoutout here and the Commit to Fit Campaign + Jared)

I weighed myself this morning and am down another pound since I checked in with y’all. -1 pound for 167 pounds. I am now 10 pounds under my post-partum weight. I can say I lost a whole lotta weight with Mamavation since I was with you all for the last two trimesters of my pregnancy but that is not fair! I mean between delivery and all the goods that happen with that… you do not want to know what I maxed at. I could claim a big ol’ Mamavation badge if I wanted to. LOL!

The good stuff this week is I am no longer supplementing the second baby, she and momma are doing well and do not require extra milk from me. I am so happy for them! I was able to get into some size 8 Banana Republic slacks last week. And the pants I am wearing in the photo below are getting way too baggy on me. I bought them a year ago before I knew I was pregnant and they fit like nice dress jeans, but now simply look frumpy.

32 weeks preggo vs. 3 1/2 months post-partum

The bad this week is that I was all over the map with my eating… some was great, some was very bad (fries 2x in one day… WHO DOES THAT?! – but boy did I pay with a tummyache from hell!). I am slowly getting back into exercise after a craptastic September with the fires, smoke, depressed husband, fighting a cold… life! And I really needed that vitamin 7/7 days, yeah I did like 0/7. Thank goodness I successfully fought off the illness that was threatening me and my husband – I suppose when I ate well I ate really well.

This week’s goals:

120 oz. water/day everyday
run 5/7 days
strength 3/7 days
ONE awesome self-care thing EVERYDAY

oh yeah… DENVER ROCK N’ ROLL 1/2 MARATHON… 2 WEEKS AWAY!

  8. You are like the cutest thing ever.

Breast feeding is awesome. I got to about 10 pounds under pre-baby too and then had to work a little harder after stopping the bf'ing and watch food and exercise to loose more. now having to concentrate even harder to lose the last 10!

As far as maxing out? I was 208 pregnant. That's 70 pounds more than I weigh now!!

What are you going to do for self care? Give me some ideas!!

  9. You are so awesome! If you decided to run for Mamavation mom, I would be SO exstatic! It would be an honor to be in the running with you! I love your vlogs, you are such a natural on camera! I also love your goal of doing on self-care thing every day! I need to jump on the bandwagon. I take care of myself once in a while, but probably not nearly enough.

Congrats on being 10 pounds under your post-partum weight! My little one is almost 2 and I'm still not under my PP weight yet. Oops!

  11. Yay!! 10lbs gone! Jump that fence and get your application out there. You would be great! You are great on camera and such a motivator on twitter and posts. You are a woman that people can easily relate too and look up to.

  12. You're baby bump was adorable! I wish mine was that small at 32 weeks! I was all belly. Even my maternity wear was working hard to contain it all! Seriously, you are looking just amazing and healthy and happy. Motherhood clearly suits you.

  16. Ok — so I'm a nosy person and I totally wanna know your max . . cause I maxed at 220. EEK.

You're gorgeous and I love the example you're setting for post-partum moms with nursing, supplementing another (or did), and your healthy living regiment.

  17. Two more things: your haircut is adorable and what video editing program do you use?

  18. Dooood, the bazooms are HUGE! LOL

  19. LOL Rachel, which max? I was a college DI athlete and had a strength coach that is now at the Olympic training center. My past numbers are scary. I am more focused on using my own body weight for strength training now with yoga, pull-ups, etc.

I use iMovie since I am on a mac.

  20. i'm a newbie getting inspired by you. great vlog!
