the return of a vlog w/ bonus triathlon pics at the end
what a crazy two weeks! we moved, went on a vacation, came back to our new place, baby was overstimulated from so much movement, I hardly slept since baby would not sleep, I ran 3.5 miles, and get this… at exactly 8 weeks postpartum I got my period again. yes, that last one started again today. sigh.
I mentioned my successes as of late with the running. I have also been hitting the DVDs. Today I did get a jogging stroller, an older model Kelty. And my husband and dad are being supportive of my fitness/health goals. It is funny, I have not lived near my dad in a long time and when I did I was a total jock, so to him this is my “normal” life. Perspectives are weird! My husband is being supportive since he has his own fitness/health goals… it is nice that we are pushing each other now.
My big FAIL lately has been my diet. I have mostly been making good choices but eating out does have its temptations. We gave ourselves til today to get back in the kitchen and boy did I jump in. We are also gonna tone down on the meat since we were mostly meat-free when I got pregnant. Today I cooked quinoa and went nuts chopping fruits and veggies to make a few dishes for friends who just had a baby… I made double of everything so our fridge is packed with the yumminess too.
Maybe a weigh-in in the morning? Man, now that the baby is adjusted to the place I am hoping he’ll sleep so I can put everything in its place and unpack this week.
Oh and that lady I mentioned in the vlog, the 230-pounder who jumped into the triathlon her first time out… I think she is LUCKY she didn’t get hurt. She learned about it on a Monday and did it on a Saturday. She said she went slow and walked a lot of it, that is how she didn’t get injured. I still think it is crazy to jump into something like that directly from the couch – but I also think she is helluva inspiring.
Well all, have a great week. Congrats to Julie Mansfield @jamnsfld76 for Sista of the Week. And thank you to Lori Gutierrez @gutimom for sponsoring the blogging carnival this week with many nice Avon products (be sure to contact Lori if you would like to place an order for anything… she is very diligent and friendly).
***Update: After two weeks of eating out I am down 1.2 pounds. Phew. I mean I did eat some fries but I really did make decent decisions most of the time. I pigged out when I would burn a lot of calories (believe me I did some strength-training with the move) and I ate moderately the rest of the time.

WOW! What a time you have had! 🙂 So you know you haven't done great with your diet, but nothing better than a plan to get back on track! I hope baby starts sleeping better for you! I know I have commented before, but you blow me away with your post-partum activity! Way to go girl!! Thanks for starting the blogging carnival for us today, I know Leah appreciated it! Have a great week!
Thanks, Kia! I love being Mamavation Mom! 🙂
The pictures were AWESOME! Looks like you had a great time at the tri! I can't wait for you to do the "skirt chaser" that's going to be awesome. You've totally got this!
I love your honesty! I'm so proud of you! You're doing great.
It's not been 8 weeks. You're lying!! 🙂 Hehe
Love! 🙂
Sounds like you've had some crazy weeks. I'm sure you are glad to put all of the "running around" behind you. You are such an amazing lady with all that you are doing!
uh, yum on the male winner. So freaking inspirational. I swear we're doing a sprint tri next year, my first!!
Some people can just jump in. I'm not one of them. I have to do everything slowly and build up or my body rebels. I would love to see a pic of that woman!!! I bet we could! Did she tell you her first name?
Whatever on the food. You have an 8 week old. Give yourself a break, woman!! XO
Awesome pictures!!!
Shuffling babes around is exhausting all in it's self. It's always good to be home and back into a routine.
Your doing good! Keep it up!!!
Congrats on your loss and your run! Just imagine your future losses now that you can have good home cooked meals! HOpe Bodie starts sleeping better for you!

I can't wait to follow your vlogs when you start training! The tri looked super fun. I really want to try one some day. The skirt chaser race is such a cute and fun idea. I can't wait to hear how you and hubby do and, see pics. Have a super week!
Ps. Congrats to hubby for quiting alcohol to train harder!!
Wow you are truly an inspiration! Maybe when I grow up I can be more like you 🙂
Hope the baby sleeps for you so you can organize.
Have a great week!
Yay for your loss of 1.2pounds! That is fantastic!
Hope you make time to unpack! I am sure it must be frustrating trying to get organized with little to no time!
Good luck this week hun! Keep up the good work!

HUGS about the return of Aunt Flo. That is no fun! Mine don't return until the boys are around 1 year… but everyone is different. HUGS that is no fun.
Way to go on the weight loss… and increased fitness! HUGS YOU are an inspiration!! 🙂
Great job on the loss, it is really hard to make good choices when you are out and about so I know you really were making the best of the situation. Keep up the great work, I wish I lived near you so you could teach me to be such an athlete.
wow that place is so peaceful must be nice to workout there and great job on the running love watching your vblogs welcome back
Dang, I wish I had a friend like you to bring me food after having a baby. Tone down the meat? Nooooo. Don't do that! lol. Kidding. That's one thing I need to work on, but don't know if I can handle it.
I'm sorry about Aunt Flo, but hey, you still lost a lb! The lady you met IS inspiring. Here I am fretting over a 5k and she's jumping into triathlons. lol
