You may have noticed some chatter between me and my husband (@tcabeen) regarding “chasing skirts” and other silly phrases. Last year we did this race when I was just under 10-weeks post-partum. Let’s just say that I got caught… but I couldn’t go all out with a newborn to care for directly after the race. I had to still be functional. This year our kiddo will be 15-months. He still needs me to take care of him but I can go harder. Watch out husband!
The two of us are race ambassadors for the Skirt Sports SkirtChaser 5K on October 1 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High (yes, where the Broncos play). Course will run up, down & around the area with a loop in the stadium. Block party in parking lot.
Basically women are given a 3-minute head start on the men. Then the men are encouraged to take off and catch.
What does this mean for a married couple like us…. a lot of trash-talking. What does it mean for single people… also maybe some trash-talking. However if you want to be caught, have fun with it. If you want to be pursued but have bragging rights, have fun with it and meet up at the post-event bash (sponsored by Barefoot Wines and Avery Brewing Company).
Registration ranges between $35 to $110 depending on what Skirt Sports swag you want. Me and Terry’s friends get a 10% race entry discount though using the code sc5kden1110 for online registration only. And for my dog-loving friends please note that a portion of the proceeds benefit Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue.
For my SINGLE friends out there – “AVAILABLE” stickers will be handed out at the pre-race expo for you to advertise. Hubba hubba. The event is expecting 1,000 to 1,500 people with the majority in the mid-20’s to mid-40’s range.
I know Terry and I hope to see a bunch of our friends there. Let us know you are coming in the comment section below or on the Skirt Chaser Facebook page.
As race ambassadors me and my husband were comped race entries and Skirt Sports products. The opinions in this post are my own and not swayed by the race organizers.

I can’t wait to see you two there. Another fun outing with the Bodhi family. Woot! P.S. I’m starting a skirt chasing run-training to prep. You two are welcome to join.
This sounds like so much fun. And? It benefits a Lab rescue? Very cool. Although I’m not too certain I need to advertise that I’m available. Nevertheless I’m checking into it.
First – I LOVE skirt sports! I love their skirts!
Second – What a FUN race! I’ll be curious to hear whether your hubby catches you. Will you be wearing a running skirt for him to chase?
I love running skirts so will definitely be wearing one of the Skirt Sports skirts for him to catch. My only question mark is whether I’ll be wearing the tank top for the sponsoring brewery, Avery Brewing Co. (they are a pretty active supporter of our running club).
