Darn feeling like life is kicking the sh*t out of me lately and my self-imposed, instrospected silence. I stick my head in the sand for a wee bit and barely realize WaRRioR DaSH is this weekend!

I mean I knew it was coming, but the reality that it is in less than 48 hours… holy moly.

Quick run-down…

PArKinG is TEN DOLLARS per CAR (carpool if you can). We may be bringing the baby and babysitter/photographer (a.k.a. grandpa) + baby so our car is full. See the facebook page of friends to find a ride.

For check-in have photo ID and bring a signed waiver.  You can download the waiver here.  If you are taking someone’s spot picking up someone’s packet you need a copy of their photo ID, a signed statement saying you are picking up their packet, and a signed waiver.

For the race have some sort of weight-lifting glove on if you want. I hear the metal corrugated tube can be harsh since we are not in an early wave and we may not see seams and bolts as we go through it… ouch. O.k., maybe knee pads too if you are tall.

In the mud pit watch yo eyes. I say this from experience. I dove into the pit at the Muddy Buddy a couple of years ago and it was the last obstacle. I had mud in my tear ducts and needed help rinsing them out at the eye wash station when I finished racing. I may do goggles this year if I find a cool set.

Also be careful of any valuables on you (jewelry, sunglasses, anything you don’t want to lose in an obstacle). O.k., your clothes too. My Muddy Buddy skirt is still tinged brown *but I raced in white that year.

For post race get ready for the Warrior Wash – don’t expect fancy showers.  Expect to be hosing off with your new friends in an open space.  Bring your change of clothes and check them in with gear check before you race.  Also wear old shoes you don’t mind donating in a big ol’ pile at the end of everything because they will be muddy.

We also all get a beer at the end. A beer and bananas 🙂 *There will be one water station mid-way through the course.
