Together Counts Twitter Party

This Tuesday I will be a panelist for the Together Counts Twitter Party (14 June 8-10 EST) and I would love it if you joined us.  There are Sports Authority gift cards up for grabs for party participants.

It would be fun to leave a blog post succinct like that but I’ll share with you what the movement is about to entice you to make an appearance.

Together Counts is a national movement urging families to eat healthy meals together and be active together with a target to eliminate childhood obesity by the year 2015.  Their message is simple with urging good calories in with what you consume balanced with meaningful calories out meaning the exercise you do.  They ask participants to take a pledge with regards to families eating meals together and being active together.

My family tries to live by these ideals.  In the last few weeks we have done a 10K together, hiked together (with a lakeside picnic), I take my son to watch me Crossfit at the gym, and we eat many home-cooked meals together during the week.  This model of living is a lifestyle.  It is a fun, engaging lifestyle.

My little family before the Bolder Boulder 10K, we started in separate waves but were there together.

I hope to see you at the party on Tuesday.

  1. Very cool! I sooooo didn’t do this in our home and now my spawn is 18 – ha! So he’s going to have to find his way, just like I found mine. But he’s starting to ask me about exercise and fuel – so there’s hope! We’ve been a bit on the outs, but I’m kinda thinking we’ll workout before he goes to college. I did trick him into a walk last week 😉
