22 Days Nutrition Bar – Review

I had seen Middle Aged Jock review 22 Days Nutrition Bar in the past. I actually went to my local Whole Foods and did not see it to try after her review so didn’t think about it too much after that. She reviewed it at the same time she looked at other bars that I do eat so it was something I wanted to try.

Then there was Fitbloggin this weekend in which she brought a number of those bars since they sponsored her to go.

She was nice enough to hand over a Nut Butter Buddha Crunch and I was able to get a Cherry Chocolate Bliss out of her on another day when I was whining about being hungry, if you saw my previous post I was an eating machine in Baltimore.

My verdict? They were pretty good.  The Nut Butter Buddha Crunch was a lot like the Chocolate Peanut PR*Bar I ate a lot of back in the day when my body fat was so disgustingly low I could not get my belly-button pierced.  It is not the 30/40/30 balanced nutrition of the PR*Bar but it does not claim to be.  What it does claim is to have some good quality ingredients, be vegan, and organic across the board.  My only issue which only affects me is that I can only eat it now while my sugar cane tolerance is high (one of my big allergies that is greatly reduced right now as part of my post-partum physiology).  One of these bars has about a 1/4 cup of cashews in it and sunflower seed butter – yum, that is something I would eat.

And as far as the Cherry Chocolate Bliss…

It actually was pretty good.  I would definitely be interested in trying the Enlightened Pumpkinseed, Goji Mate Firecracker, and Fruit Nut Karma because they don’t have evaporated cane juice (it only seems to be associated with chocolate).  When the bars are vegetarian vs. vegan it is because they use honey and honey is derived from bees so that is not vegan. See their website for more information on each bar as well as the company.

I am not big on eating bars as a regular part of a diet but they do come in handy when I need to eat something and my son is being demanding of my attention.  My husband and I each keep one in our bags in case of calorie emergencies and we have a stash in the car.  I would consider adding this bar to our stash if I see it out when we are bar shopping next.

The opinion in this review is 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this review by 22 Days Nutrition.  I received two bars to try from their sponsored attendee at Fitbloggin as well as a Nut Butter Buddha t-shirt and wrote this review on my own free will because they are pretty good and have awesome ingredients.
