Wonder. How did you cultivate a sense of wonder in your life this year?
Taking a moment to take it all in. Pregnancy is a crazy time in a woman’s life (especially for her first child) when her body forces her to take actions she normally wouldn’t. At some point between my 2nd and 3rd trimester my body would feel a little tired.
I had one day on Pearl Street in Boulder when I was headed to Two Hands Paperie and it was early in the day. I strolled Pearl and took a seat outside the cookware store next to the paperie. About 25 minutes before they opened. It was nice. I strolled and sat. My body welcomed the relaxation because I had walked the 3+ miles to Pearl Street that morning for a workout.  I sipped from my water bottle and watched dogs walk by, people walk by, the reflection of cars drive by, started at window displays, stared at the clouds, and looked at my hands. It was a time out from the world.
It was a nice transition to be gentle with my body as it worked to develop a growing baby. There was no agenda. Simply being to let the world happen and not have my ego tied up with its workings.
