gratitude tuesday – support and fit friends

I was utterly shocked to be chosen as a Mamavation finalist in the last couple of days. The voting is open this week and the two moms selected for the campaign will be announced at next Monday’s twitter party.

Even more surprising than being chosen as a finalist has been the outpouring of support I have received from IRL and online friends. You all are crazy and my heart swells with happiness for knowing you. Thank you.

Leah, the Head Mom of Mamavation, is having all the finalists get their business sorted out now in case we are selected because the virtual boot camp begins the day after the twitter party. One component of the program is to have a fit friend who can help keep your butt in line. I hinted to Jackie Warner in a round about way but have not heard anything back. I asked Harley Pasternak but he may be busy training Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Lady GaGa and Jennifer Hudson.

However I know a lot of fit folks and went to two I admire. They both said yes. I have mad respect for them and know they are great to follow in the twitterverse.

The first was in my vlog a couple weeks ago because she was at a canning party with me. I have ran with her, bugged her for opinions from A-Z, and fed her loads of produce at a BBQ when she showed up on a paleo diet. I have seen her content copied on bookieboo.com and laughed because there was the dessert I gave her at my house. You all just didn’t know it was her stuff ending up on the site. She is a certified trainer, a triathlete and also a nice fixture at dailyburn.com.

The second is someone you all should know. She is actually the person who got me involved in Mamvation after I kept seeing her tweet the hashtag. I started my Bodhi Bear social media life last year mid-November. Right after I began I saw some crazy woman begin to tweet and blog about starting a diet just before Thanksgiving. I thought she was nuts starting something like that just before the holidays. Well she stuck to it, is now 50+ pounds lighter and running in the Nike Women’s Half Marathon this weekend.

Meet my other FIT FRIEND @ReneeJRoss Please also read her celebratory post after she shed 53 pounds.

These are my FIT FRIENDS. I am grateful these two women agreed to get my back if I am selected as a Mamavation Mom for this campaign.
