mamavation monday 27 september 2010

#1 – GOOD LUCK to everyone applying this campaign!

#2 -my dorkiest VLOG to date featuring baby (a.k.a. the weight), Kate as trainer/weight rack, and Jen as camera person. Also Kate and Jen are friends I am half-marathoning with in December.

I didn’t want a birthday party this year to close out my birthday month. Instead a dear friend asked what I wanted and I said I wanted to get some ladies together to can. And canning we did. We made a plum/raspberry preserve, spiced peaches, plain peaches, and bread/butter pickles. It was fun stuff making good use of our local harvests.

The week was o.k. Our family has been fighting an illness hubby brought home from work. We have not succumbed and have been resting, remembering the vitamins, garlic lemonading, etc.

This week will be great. Forget fires, illness, and sad faces! Keep on hydrating, use up all the produce in my kitchen ( and I have A LOT of local goods).

Goals: run 4/7 days
strength 3/7 days
vitamins + probiotics 7/7

I may not be at the TV show this week. I have an evening meeting that could go late. Have an amazing week everyone.

  1. I totally bonded with my bff while making and canning pear butter one saturday. Something about women in the kitchen together doing that makes me feel connected to something bigger. Sisterhood and history. Does that make sense or just sound weird?

    Have a great week, sistah.

  2. to me that sounds like a WONDERFUL way to spend a birthday! and I agree with MrsFatass – there's something magical about women in the kitchen bonding. (I think that sounds differently than I mean it, but you get the idea)

I hope the illness leaves y'all alone soon and that you feel better. Have a GREAT week!
