mamavation monday 7 june 2010

VLOG…

So there you have it, 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. Taking it easy. Looking forward to having this baby, some rest time (about 6 weeks if I have an uncomplicated vaginal birth), and then getting physical again. My getting physical plan includes EAS Active More Workouts, heart rate monitor training, yoga, and P90X.

Tonight I will be a green lifestyle panel member for this Seventh Generation twitter party from 9-11 PM EST through @momitforward. Please show up and support me if you have time. It should be a fun party with loads of great information.

Tonight is also a fun mamavation night from 10-11 PM EST. @mommymomo will be on camera as the Sista of the Week and it is a free-for-all tonight with camera time for Sistas to talk about how they are doing.

I can't believe you are planning a half marathon in October. That's way before mine. Well, girl…make sure to take those 6 weeks. I was actually fine after 4 weeks and started exercising, but don't tell anyone that…;)

You look sooooooo pregnant. Any minute now….

And I think the baby will be late and show up during the cup. That was a late date, right?

  3. Thanks, I put up details of the event when I registered for it last weekend (my last Mamavation post).

No, I am 38 weeks now and the cup starts this weekend. My EDD is one week into the cup. This is why we nicknamed the fetus Zakumi, that is the World Cup mascot.

Kia, you never cease to amaze me! You're pretty much the best pregnant woman ever.

  5. You and your husband are about the cutest things EVER!

(p.s. don't listen to people telling you that you'll be late! Ugh — that used to DEPRESS ME when I was pregnant. LOL. I ended up exactly one week early, thankfully, because August in Houston was MISERABLE).

Yes, take the full 6 weeks and really listen to your body about the type of activities you do during that time.

    YOU LOOK MAH-VELOUS!

  6. Hi Kia! Re: your comment on my mamavation post. I am the busy mom to three boys ages 4,2, 6 months. I think I am able to be so active with my fitness regimine because I have kept it from the get-go after having #1. I would load him up in the carrier and go for a walk each morning… and continued that pattern 4+ years later. 🙂 Now it is expected after breakfast… to load up for our morning walk.

Another thing is to be open and honest with your husband about the MUCH NEEDED *ME* time that running/walking/working out (with NO children) will give you. You will be a better mom, wife… PERSON! 🙂 (trust me on this one – let go of the guilt and enjoy what little "you" you are allowed). *hugs*

If you have any more questions, I would love to help you out! 🙂

Remember… slow and steady. You first need to relax and ENJOY being a mom… then slow down and HEAL your body from just having a baby… then slowly get back into the groove of things. 🙂

    *hugs* Rach

OHHHOHHOHHH Kia you are beautiful and amazing!! I also would love to try P90X! Have you tried it before? Hoping you are still feeling strong this week, xxoo

  11. I was doing P90X just prior to getting pregnant and very early in the pregnancy. It reminds me a lot of like "hell week" drills you may have done in high school or college sports. I think it is a lot of fun.

  12. I always forget how beautiful Colorado is….thank you for reminding me. Gosh, can't wait for Little Z to get here! Take it easy and enjoy these last few weeks (days?), they really are the best.
