SPECIAL vlog of the Memorial Day Bolder Boulder 10K I did today…
Today was indeed my last walking cardio day of my pregnancy (37 1/2 weeks). Any cardio will be done in the pool at this point. My pelvis feels like putty at this moment and my feet are sore! It was mid-80s while we were on the course so my body felt the heat. Luckily ice plus two popsicles at the end helped bring my core temperature down quickly. I had about a dozen contractions while I was heated but baby is kicking and being squirmy now that we are home. I am also back to being fully hydrated.
Overall the day was a lot of fun. Dr. Oz ran in under an hour and seemed to have a blast.
This past week leading up to the 10K I walked, strength-trained and did yoga. This next week I’ll give myself a couple of days of rest and then yoga, strength-training and pool time (laps and stretching).
My diet is going well for the most part, perhaps not out of healthy eating priorities though. I figure I can go in to labor at any time and just want to keep my digestive tract in tip top shape given that that my body will be doing incredible things at a moments notice.
I am really looking forward to what my body will be doing next. Baby, 40 days rest, and then with the support of my husband I will be training for the Denver Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon (17 October). I registered for this race at the Bolder Boulder expo this weekend. Ideally I’ll be trained and he’ll be near the finish line with our baby to cheer me on. I half think one of the big bonuses he sees to us having a child is that I will not try to force him to enter these events with me anymore since someone will have to watch our little one LOL!
Tonight is Mamavation Monday night so join in to say hello to our motivation coach Pete Cohen and intro to our last eco-challenge about energetics and nutrition which is a timely topic given how much meat many of us may have eaten over the weekend. See ya there.

Great job Kia! You rock and are so inspiring! Congrats on a healthy happy pregnancy!
How motivational is this:) I want to finish a 10k and I'm not even pregnant. Lol. Congrats to you!!
I think you are a pregnant superstar!! XXOO
Kia you are a freaking rockstar!!! Hands down the best!
That looks like such an amazing event and I'm so glad you were still able to participate this year!! Much Love.
Again I am in complete awe! You totally rock!!
Wow, Kia! You are AMAZING! Truly inspirational and loved the video especially watching the tribute! You are awesome!
Honestly you are sio inspiring to us pregnant moms out here! Thank you for being you!
Sounds like a wonderful day, congrats and now you can finally say you are ready to have that baby. and don't let the hubs out of the races just get a good stroller. 😀 hehe
Youthful Tips, the tribute is amazing. I didn't have the video on for the USAF Academy fly-over as the Star Spangled Banner was ending (the timing was off this year). There was also recognition of two WWII heroes that survived the Battle of the Bulge, I believe the Taps horn player also survived that battle.
wow thats amazing you did that 10k while preggos, you got a great hubby there too. thanks for the video
