The purpose of my Tuesday posts are to be positive about things in the motherhood journey… even if they are things I need to psych myself up for. This is definitely one of those things. I have done a previous post about my scrambled, negative head space on this topic, but it is now time to put on the big girl pants and get ready for the parties.
I have a shower tomorrow, a co-ed party/blessing on Sunday, and a small female only blessingway in about two weeks. The parties will be here if I am ready or not, so I need to be ready. I need to be gracious. I need to embrace that people care about me, my hubby, and this new life we are bringing into the world.
With that said post on this blog entry or wait for a post on Thursday to post any blessings or wishes you want to share with my little family. I will be printing them on vellum to hang in a tree for Sunday’s big co-ed, community blessing. It will be a mix of #IRL and social media folks in our lives.
So the parties, what am I looking forward to?
- food
- friends
- gifts
- laughter
Just so you do not think I am a greedy, greedy type I must let you all know one place I had to register at… the Alternative Gift Registry via New American Dream. I had to do this because it is not all about buy me this, buy me that. On our registry I have DIY linked tutorials for people that want to make us stuff, requests for gently used thrift store/consignment items, and essentially sign-ups for people to do stuff for us in lieu of a material gift once the baby is born like housework, running errands, cooking, etc.
So party #1… about 24 hours away. Big girl pants are on…. I just need to keep telling myself, “I will be gracious, I will be gracious.”
Wish me luck.

Good luck with the big girl pants. I love you, have as much fun with it as you can. People are there because they WANT to be there to help you celebrate. That's a good thing. 🙂
