mamavation monday 22 mar 10

Here is my Squinty McSquinterson VLOG for the week. I attached my Gorilla Pod and camera to a zip line in the yard right in the path of the sun. Yowzer it was bright this morning with all the snow around.

The week has been good. I have been drinking more water now that my midwife showed me a better way to pee that really helps empty the bladder. I was getting scared about hydrating and being in public for a bit there only because restrooms are not always as available as I would like. Food consumption was great this week. 7/7 with fruits and veggies. I could have been more active but think I was mourning the loss of the running… just being a baby about it.

This week should be amazing. My husband is doing a cleanse/elimination diet. I am the main cook and cooking for him on his restricted ingredient list will only benefit me. Lots of quinoa and veggies on the horizon for dinner at least. Also pool time this week and scheduling activity to make sure it gets done. I am trying to grow forward, not to the sides! Also this week, my glucose testing.

Best wishes to everyone on their week and welcome to the new ladies that are joining us. See you all tomorrow when we talk via the Mamavation show. Check out the link if you don’t know about it, support and knowledge – this week Weight Training 101 with Amy Dixon. GO SISTAHOOD!

You're doing so great! I need to look for the Larabars somewhere near me. I've become so much more conscientious of food labels in the last few weeks.

  2. Look at the baby bump! Too cute. Thanks for the tip about reading the food labels. I'm one of those people who sees it in the healthy foods section and assume that it's the right thing.

Loving that baby bump! So glad you're part of the sistahood, Kia. Hugs!

I agree! You are doing great!!! Love the baby bump!!!

  5. You are such a great role model! Good luck to your hubby and his cleanse. Thanks for the reminders on food labels…I was going to get a bar last week and read all the labels and left with just some gum.

  6. You look great! I am terrible about food labels. I have too much faith in the companies that produce my food. Good tip!

    Aww loving the bump =)

  10. I love those Larabars. My favorite is the peanut butter cookie. I would LOVE for them to sponsor the campaign, but I guess they don't do those things right now. 🙁

Awesome that you're supporting your husband through this cleanse. You look lovely at 27 weeks. And I will say that I was in better shape for my second pregnancy and it was a much more comfortable pregnancy and an easier delivery. Thanks for being here to support us. Where in CO do you live? My BFF is in Conifer (Denver-ish) and if you live near there, I would love info on local CSA and food sources there. She would love that.

I love, love, love Whole Foods. When we went to Texas, I didn't leave unless we go to Austin, just to see the Whole Foods corporate office there. I was like in heaven, lol!

You're lucky that you live in a health conscious area. You're right about reading labels. I do that all the time when I shop, so grocery shopping is now taking forever, according to my dear husband.

So you're hubby is in detox right now? I used to detox every year too and the program I used to follow takes a month, with doctor supervision. My previous doctor moved to another country so I'm looking for a new detox program.

You are doing such a good job in your lifestyle, just wanna give you and your hubs my thumbs up! Keep it up! — @ImAHotMom

  13. Good luck with your glucose test. It was so hard for me because I failed the first one and had to take the long one. I'm glad you are focused on having a healthy pregnancy. Good luck with your goals this week!
