Today I was on twitter when @designsvanessa hit me with a great idea, like a brick between the eyes.
You can view her idea board on her blog here.. Her idea board for her nursery got me thinking about the mood board I created for our wedding.

Our wedding turned out a lot like the thematic elements of this board.
The board ended up being a valuable planning tool that we referred to when making decisions. As I found it on my old wedding blog I also saw a few posts of frustration with making it with my hubby. He likes to be involved and making it was not 100% smooth since we do have distinct styles LOL.
However today I asked him if he would want to make a mood board with me for our little Zakumi. We will be co-sleeping/attachment parenting folks for a while so baby will not get a traditional nursery, but design elements are still fun. Especially as we have to register in the next few weeks.
Therefore my post for next Tuesday will be “things I am enjoying: designing for baby” and I am asking if any of you want to join me? Think of it as a challenge if you want. I will post our mood board, but feel free to send an idea, mood, inspiration or story board and I will post yours too. Send your jpeg to bodhibearinfo/gmail/com. Just get it to me by Monday 11:59 PM PST. If you don’t play with Photoshop and don’t know where to start then consider making a tiled board from mosaicmaker simply to get visual elements down in one place. Do colors, symbols, actual things you want for your baby and nursery, etc.
For the last 6 months I have been all about planning and learning for baby. I think this will be a simple, fun and nice tool for my husband and I to have as we get to be silly picking out the material things for the baby, letting DIY friends know a little bit more about what kind of stuff we like, and for the folks planning our big shower that want to know a theme.
