I have no idea why, but I am thrilled at the idea of going to a baseball game when I am super pregnant. I think it is something I have always admired when I have gone to games. You don’t see preggos that often but it really looks like their queendom. A chance to relax, be comfy in a seat, eat fun food, and cheer for whatever they want at a leisurely pace in ideally great weather.
First off, soccer is my sport and the Colorado Rapids start their season at home before the Colorado Rockies do. I suppose I am way more into soccer so I will be analyzing and possibly cursing during the whole game (yes, that is how I enjoy a futbol match). Secondly I am not the biggest baseball fan but I do like going to games. I grew up a lifelong L. A. Dodgers fan and will root for them above any other team but the Rockies are a CLOSE second (I find myself rooting for both when they play each other). I love the Rockies team, stadium, and even their team hot dog – Hebrew National (especially with grilled peppers and onions). I have not had a hot dog yet this pregnancy but plan to have one at the game!
So there it is, out there… I am thrilled to go to a Rockies game while super pregnant. Hopefully we can hit a game on a warm April afternoon so I can allow myself to eat a dog, cheer on the Rockies, and show off my belly in the sun. The only thing that will be better is heading to Tucson for spring training. I went to Dodgers spring training when we lived in Florida the season they made the transition to the Cactus League and it was awesome to get to go to Dodgertown before it was a memory. The Dodgers are in town for a stand Memorial Day weekend but on the other days my pregnant belly will be shrouded in purple or black. Play ball!!
On a midwife update, yesterday’s appointment went really well. At 17.5 weeks The fundal height growth was where we wanted it at 18.5 cm, the baby’s heartbeat was between 144 and 152 beats/minute, and my weight was down 2.5 pounds. I was nervous about being down weight but after going over my food log and activity level my midwife could not be happier with the choices that I am making. It turns out that on one hike my husband and I did we actually overlooked into a canyon with a series of old cabins including the one where her first son was born. She knew the exact trail we were on when we told her our route because she walked that trail a lot that pregnancy. For this month she wants me to basically keep up what I have been doing.

That is great Kia! I love how full of life you are! You are such an inspiration. Can't wait to see you decked in baseball gear on your blossoming belly!
