Just When Did I Get Sperminated?

I was cleaning the lower shelf of my nightstand recently and found three magazines that have basically become cushions for whatever pregnancy/baby book I am reading at the moment. Let’s see if you can determine when life changed with this pregnancy by what I found…

September 2009
August 2009
July/August 2009

I thought this stack of magazines was pretty funny. If you answered late September then you are right!!

This year was not AWESOME for the endurance events but doing some were do-able. I had a pretty weird illness March-May but mid-May I did a half-marathon then on Memorial Day a 10K (and I did my level I 200-hr yoga certification January-May). Right after that I developed a respiratory infection, then in August my husband accidentally gave me a concussion in his sleep (bony elbow to my head) that I discovered the extent of one mile into an Irongirl 5K. Shortly after I did that race I did the Muddy Buddy with a girlfriend (just gotta say obstacle courses, mountain biking, running, and mud pits are FUN!!). Though I was not the fastest at these events they were a lot of fun and I enjoy doing them. However they seem like a lifetime ago.

Less than 6 weeks before spermination

I welcome the changes that will come with a child. It will be interesting to see how I am able to train with the demands of motherhood when a time-consuming babe gets here. I do want my little one to know their mom likes to run around and laugh and put on silly numbers when she runs in the streets. It will just be a matter of seeing if this happens in year one or year five.

Lol – my side table looks the same only the mags are from October 2004… My MIL laughed when she heard that & bought me a subscription to Runner's World to kick my butt back out there!

Sorry about that concussion. I'm a horrible person. 🙁 I will be supporting you in your races this year (whether you're running or walking) just as I have in the past. You're an amazing, strong, beautiful woman.

  3. If "futurepapa" is supportive you should have enough time to do what you want! I'm only 4 months postpartum and I could train for a half-marathon if I were fit enough. DH and I have a schedule worked out with the baby where I have some free time on the weekends and if I feel like getting up early enough to train I could. My full level of fitness has not returned yet though so I'm more in 5K mode right now. I'm planning a March half but I will probably run 10K and walk the rest.
