This is the real deal! Lynn Rogers of the North American Bear Center led a research project studying the hibernation behaviour of bears including this mother, Lily. Yesterday just before noon Lily gave birth in MN. In this day an age you know the event was captured on webcam. The video shows her kicking her hindquarters in what are speculated to be resulting from strong contractions. Eventually you see the bear hunched over her young breathing with an arched back to keep the tender babe warm. You can hear the baby cry then suckle. I mean it really cries! So precious.
