The Color Run *discount + giveaway

If you run is it organized or something you do on your own? If it is organized is it competitive with timing or simply for the sake of fun? If you are thinking about starting to run shouldn’t it be fun? Yes, there are organized runs that are now FUN!  In fact there are a lot of fun runs these days but the original is The Color Run.

The Color Run

That picture above really does capture what the event is like.  The Color Run is known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet for a reason.  Volunteers man color stations and color bomb runners who are celebrating their health, happiness, and individuality throughout the race.  You start the race wearing white and leave doused in whatever hues you had the good sense to dance around in.

With the explosion of fun runs The Color Run has been busy adding cities to its lineup for the 2014 Kaleidoscope Tour.  In Colorado we have three alone but they are spread out everywhere.   Since it is January and you are either killing or killed the healthy living resolutions or goals you made why not add this to your list or achievable milestones?  Take $5 off your registration with the code COLOR5OFF.

And just because I know folks want to do this race with friends I have agreed to give away a pair of entries.  There is a caveat that the winner can only select from cities that have not sold out registration – so far Hershey, PA is the only sell out but that can change at any moment.  Get your registration ASAP and use COLOR5OFF to save some cash.

For those of you still wanting to play with the fate gods use the Rafflecopter form to enter and good luck.  Winner will be selected a week from today (24 January) and will have until Monday 27 January to reply or they will forfeit their prize to another entrant.

You are an amazing mamacita for doing these races with your son. He is a lucky boy.

  2. I’m SLOWLY figuring out what my tangible goals are going to be. I’ve decided to live intentionally in 2014, but specific – measurable – goals for fitness haven’t been selected quite yet. A certain # of 5Ks is on there though! Just haven’t picked how many.

I am a vision board type that likes to set up my action plan through that. I am stalling on my physical vision board right now until I can announce something.

  3. I’m going to do this one with my 13 year old son. He told me yesterday that he feels like our relationship is becoming more distant because he has 3 younger siblings and we never get any one on one time. He’s been dying to do a race and this one would be perfect. I love my baby boy!

That is so precious. You have some remarkable children.

  4. I have some health goals for this year, but they are coming along slowly. I decided this year that I’d start off with my own intentions of what it means to be healthy instead of following the crowd. First year for me to do this: let’s see how it goes!

The health and fitness crowd can suck donkey balls half the time… including me. Ha!

I didn’t bother, I’ve been trying to be healthier overall, but I didn’t make a new year’s resolution!

    1. As long as you are actively doing what you want to do to meet your overall goals. FYI my only resolution last year was to dance more.

  8. I actually am really trying to keep moving these days to get into better shape. 🙂

    1. Baby steps, keep moving, keep reassessing. Good luck on your goals.

  9. I have been doing a pretty good job of getting back on track. I have been making small changes and following through before I change something else. 🙂

    1. Right on Laine, that sounds like a sound plan.

  10. My resolution was to fulfill many small resolutions 21 days at a time. I figured I would try to make habits that build on to each other. My first resolution was to start waking up early because I know that I lose so much time by choosing to sleep in. I’ve been getting up at 6am instead of 8-9am since the first (weekends included) and in two days I want to add a morning yoga session.

  11. […] Fran there has been a lot of life in the last two weeks as well as a giveaway for TWO entries into The Color Run of your choice that ends on […]

  13. I just want to enjoy this year and get my body ready for our next baby!

To cut out the excess junk & walk more.

  18. I actually get so much exercise at my new job that I have to eat a lot more to keep my BMI at a healthy level. I would still like to eat healthy food instead of convenience and processed foods, and my progress toward that goal has been uneven, at best!

    Thanks for the chance!

  19. I am going to do a spartan race this year. i have been working on building my upper body strength. 137 days til the race!

  20. Resolutions going good so far, I suppose. I lost 67lbs last year and trying hard to get the last ten off. 🙂 Working on running 1,000 miles for the year and have 45 done so far. 🙂
